Multiple Sclerosis
When the body's defences damage the covering of nerves.
A short film of what happens — no sound needed.
What's happening
Multiple sclerosis (MS) happens when the body's immune system, by mistake, attacks the protective covering around nerves.
That covering helps signals travel fast. Where it is damaged, signals slow down or get blocked — causing weakness, numbness, tiredness and more.
MS is unpredictable. Symptoms can flare up and then settle, and they differ from person to person.
Between flare-ups, the right work protects your strength, energy and walking. Many people stay active and independent for decades.
What you may see at home
- New weakness or numbness, often on one side
- Vision changes — blurring, eye pain, or double vision
- Deep tiredness, often worse in heat
- Trouble with balance and walking
- A sudden need to pass urine, or leaks
MS symptoms come and go. Noticing a change is worth a conversation — it does not mean the worst.
How we help
- 1We plan exercise that builds strength without triggering a tiredness crash.
- 2We teach energy-saving habits, so your effort goes where it matters most.
- 3We work on balance and walking, matched to how you are right now.
- 4We coach cooling, pacing and rest, so daily life stays steady.
What getting better looks like
Between flare-ups
Steady, careful exercise protects what you have and builds a little more.
Around a flare-up
Rest while it is active, then gently rebuild as it settles. Never push through new symptoms.
Over the years
With the right rhythm, many people keep walking, working and living fully for a long time.
MS is managed, not cured. We are honest about that — and honest that the right work makes a real, lasting difference.
